Without a dedicated marketing staff, the Mount Saint Vincent University Students’ Union navigated throughout the decades with multiple logo variations and without visual identity guidelines. While serving as president of the organization, I created a brand for the organization and all their subsidiary services and spaces to increase their visibility on campus.
The finished logo features an origami crow. Just as a paper folder can take a single sheet of paper and transform it into something much greater, MSVUSU uses their limited resources to provide numerous essential services for their students. The crow was picked as a nod to the large murder that lived on campus (4,000+ crows). Upon launching the brand, we also released a monthly publication, titled 'Origami', as a portmanteau to "Original" + "Ami" (friend), the Union being the first contact for many new students.
